La discografia di Beck, musicista rock americano, cantautore, produttore discografico e polistrumentista, è composta da 14 album in studio, una compilation, un album di remix, quattro EP e 52 singoli. Con un collage pop art di stili musicali, testi obliqui e ironici e arrangiamenti postmoderni che incorporano campioni, drum machine, strumentazione dal vivo ed effetti sonori, Beck è stato acclamato dalla critica e dal pubblico durante la sua carriera musicale come uno dei musicisti più creativi e idiosincratici del rock alternativo degli anni 1990 e 2000.
Beck ha pubblicato il suo album di debutto Golden Feelings attraverso l’etichetta discografica indipendente Sonic Enemy nel 1993. Più tardi quell’anno, i suoi primi singoli, “Loser” e “MTV Makes Me Want to Smoke Crack“, contribuirono a guadagnare rapidamente l’attenzione delle principali etichette discografiche. All’inizio del 1994, dopo aver pubblicato Stereopathetic Soulmanure per la Flipside Records, Beck fece il suo debutto con la DGC Records, pubblicando Mellow Gold il 1º marzo 1994. Il singolo principale dell’album “Loser” (precedentemente disponibile solo come singolo standalone su Bong Load Custom Records) raggiunse il numero 10 nella Billboard Hot 100 e contribuì a presentare Beck a un pubblico mainstream. Quell’anno, pubblicò un terzo album, One Foot in the Grave, per l’etichetta indie K Records, che includeva apparizioni di membri di Beat Happening, The Presidents of the United States of America e Built to Spill.
Beck pubblicò il suo album di svolta Odelay il 18 giugno 1996, che includeva i singoli di successo “Where It’s At” e “The New Pollution“. Oltre al plauso della critica, Odelay avrebbe continuato a vedere la doppia certificazione di platino sia negli Stati Uniti sia in Canada. I suoi due album successivi, Mutations (1998) e Midnite Vultures (1999) mantennero il suono eclettico per cui Beck era diventato famoso e videro recensioni favorevoli con un continuo successo in classifica. Nel 2002, Sea Change è stato pubblicato con notevoli elogi sia da parte dei fan sia della critica, diventando il primo album di Beck nella Top 10 degli Stati Uniti, supportato da un tour che ha visto i Flaming Lips come band di supporto. Beck pubblicò Guero il 29 marzo 2005, che sarebbe diventato il suo album di maggior successo fino ad oggi, raggiungendo il numero 2 nella Billboard 200 degli Stati Uniti. Il primo singolo dell’album “E-Pro” raggiunse la vetta della classifica Billboard Alternative Songs, un’impresa che non era stata raggiunta da nessuna canzone di Beck dai tempi di “Loser“, oltre un decennio prima. Seguirono altri due album nella Top 10 degli Stati Uniti, tra cui The Information (2006) e Modern Guilt (2008), l’ultimo dei quali diede a Beck il suo primo piazzamento nella Top 10 della UK Albums Chart. Il suo album successivo, Morning Phase (2014), gli è valso il Grammy Award 2015 come album dell’anno (da Wikipedia).
